Basic Living Skills – Basic Sewing – sew your own project – Starts Friday 14th Feb – #07308

Learn basic sewing, understand and become confident using a sewing machine, create new things! Bring your own machine or use one of ours. A great opportunity to work on your own project and get help with the tricky bits. Please supply your own fabric and thread. If you have your own machine, please bring it along.

Limited to 6 learners.

Dates: Fridays starting Friday 14th Feb – Friday 3rd March
Times: 10.30am – 1.30pm

Cost: Community Service Card $20 for the term, Non-Community Service Card $40 for the term

Course Tutor(s):  Nelly Bertram is experienced with a range of sewing and will be able to guide you with your project.

Purpose of the Course:  This course is designed for sewing beginners who have no or little experience in sewing, or would like support with their projects.

  • By the end of this course learners will be able to:

    • have a basic understanding of sewing terms

    • have a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine, including refilling a bobbin, threading a machine, forward and reverse stitching, altering stitch width, length, type and tension

    • complete their own sewing project

Other Information:  Please bring your own material, thread, and ideas.  If you have a machine you can bring it, or use one of ours.

Pre-requisites (if any):  NA

Participants Must Provide:  Material and thread to complete their own project, your own sewing kit if you have one.

REAP May Provide on request (if any):  Sewing machines are available to use.
