We know you have had a rough time and some of you are still recovering. Here’s a distraction that will inject some energy, lift your spirits and connect you to the land.
My Taonga (treasure)
Workshops are available to ALL members of the East Coast Community at no cost.
Each workshop will take place during the day and lunch is provided. The tutor Aaron Greaves is a well respected pounamu (greenstone) carver from the Hawkes Bay, was also affected by the cyclone and is looking forward to spending some time on the East Coast to connect with locals.
During the day each person will start with a piece of pounamu (greenstone) and spend the day moulding it into their desired shape.
The process is accessible to all levels of ability and the only requirement is time and patience!
It will be a good day for sitting and catching up around the table whilst creating a taonga (treasure) to pass on to one of your family, or keep to wear yourself.
