#37177 Sewing (Night) Classes, eketāhuna

Learners will plan, design and construct individual sewing projects to gain basic sewing skills and confidence to use a sewing machine.  Beginners welcome.  Previous learners will continue to build on sewing skills and knowledge.

Dates:  11th November – 9th December 2021 (5-weeks)
Times:  Thursday Evenings,  6:00pm – 9:00pm

Venue: Te Whare Ora o Eketāhuna, 1 Bengston Street, Eketāhuna
Cost:    $30 / $15 with Community Services Card

Course Information for #37177 EKETĀHUNA Sewing (Night) Classes 

Course Tutor(s):  Billy Gordon

Purpose of the Course:  

  • To learn basic sewing skills and gain confidence to operate a sewing machine independently.
  • Be confident to plan, design and complete sewing project/s.  This might include: planning a project; drawing up ideas on paper, measuring quantities, listing resources and making approximate costings.
  • Learners will improve foundation literacy and numeracy skills and gain confidence problem solving.

Pre-requisites (if any): n/a

Participants Must Provide: Your own sewing machine and instruction booklet, cotton, material and sewing scissors.  Please let us know if you do not have a sewing machine as we can possibly arrange a machine for you to use during class.
