Have you always wanted to learn to sew using a machine? Maybe you have a machine and don’t know how to use it. This is the course for you. Learn basic sewing and become confident using a sewing machine, create new things! Bring your own machine or use one of ours. A great opportunity to work on your own project and get help with the tricky bits. Please supply your own fabric and thread. Limited to 5 learners.

EKETAHUNA SEWING CLASS TERM 1 – STARTS THURSDAY 20TH FEB – #07336

Course Tutor(s):  Mel is experienced with a range of sewing knowledge and skill, and will be able to guide you with your project. She will meet the learning needs of individuals to become an independent sewers.

Purpose of the Course:  This course is designed for sewing beginners who have no or little experience in sewing, or those who would like support with their projects.

By the end of the course learners will be able to: have a basic understanding of sewing terms.  Have a basic understanding of how to use a sewing machine, including refilling a bobbin, threading a machine, forward and reverse stitching, altering stitch width, length, type and tension.  Complete their own sewing project. Mel will also give you tips about finding and using patterns online, or taking a pattern from a favourite item or inventing your own pattern and sourcing fabric of reasonable pricing and quality.


Other Information: 
 Please bring your own material, thread, and ideas.  If you have a sewing machine/overlocker that you can bring along that would be helpful- bring their instruction book too

Participants Must Provide:  Material and thread to complete their own project, your own sewing kit if you have one..

REAP May Provide on request (if any):  Sewing machines are available to use, please let tutor know on enrolment.
