Love fly-fishing? Learn how to tie fishing flies and nymphs used for trout fishing, in anticipation of the upcoming season. Course fee includes basic fly-tying starter kit.

Course Tutor(s): John Pansters and Howard Thomson
Purpose of the Course: Each week our skilled tutors will give a demonstration on ‘how to’ and then participants will use the new techniques to tie their own nymphs, wet flies and dry flies.
Participants will learn: –
- The basic skills required to tie a fly
- How to use the necessary tools for fly-tying
- How to select and prepare fly-tying materials
- How to carry out fly-tying techniques such as dubbing, whip-finishing and ribbing.
A beginner’s fly-tying start kit is included in the registration price, enabling participants to continue making flies and nymphs at home.
Other Information: Participants may also like to register their interest with REAP Wairarapa for a Fly-fishing course in Term 4, 2022.

Participants Must Provide: Good eyesight or have a decent pair of glasses.
