Have you always wanted to know how to tie your own nymphs and flies for fly fishing?
This course includes the cost of a starter kit for tying flies, to keep and with everything you will need to begin.Our experienced tutors will have you making beautiful little feathery imitations on a hook, to trick those trout onto your line.
Dates: On Wednesdays, July 8, 15, 22, 29, Oct 5
Times: 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Course Tutor(s): John Pansters and Howard Thomson are both dedicated members of the Wairarapa Fly Fishing Club who enjoy sharing their knowledge and fly tying skills with beginners.
Purpose of the Course: This course will give the students basic skills required to tie a fly.
- Participants will learn how to …
- use the tools provided for fly tying
- select and prepare fly tying materials
- carry out fly tying techniques such as dubbing, whip finishing, ribbing
- apply these techniques and learn how to tie nymphs, wet flies and dry flies
