#36853 Kia Mārama – Te Reo Māori in Action
The Maramataka Māori is an important marker of time for Tāngata Māori. It provides information on the best times of the day, month and year for certain activities. As a lunar calendar, the maramataka follows the phases of the moon throughout the month – each day with a different name, holding different information that affects our well-being. By the end of this workshop you will have developed an understanding of the Maramataka, how it can personally affect you and your environment, and gained insight on how to better plan your activities around the Maramataka to sustain your well-being.
