The New Zealand shearing industry is in need of more shearers 🐑
We're offering a 2 week short course that will provide you with core skills and knowledge to get a job in the shearing industry. You will learn the practical aspects of the rural sector mainly, shearing, wool handling and health and safety components.
The course is taught out at Taratahi in the Wairarapa where you'll be provided with full accommodation and food.
If you are looking for an opportunity to upskill, get a job or change jobs then this is the opportunity for you.

The three Wairarapa District Councils are working collaboratively to coordinate and support our communities post COVID-19. The Wairarapa Recovery Team has been set up to provide assistance and advice for restoring and enhancing our community’s social, economic, environmental, and cultural wellbeing.
A survey has been developed so we can get a better understanding of the key issues and opportunities facing the Wairarapa Region. This will help us to better target activities to support recovery.

The Wairarapa Recovery Team has been set up to provide assistance and advice for restoring and enhancing our community’s social, economic, environmental, and cultural wellbeing. They appreciate your assistance in completing this survey.
Are you over 18? Do you need your licence or driving without one? Then this course is for you. The course is aimed at adults and those not at school. Come along and be supported to learn the Rode Code ready to sit the test at the AA. The course fee includes the cost of sitting the test.
This course will run during the day time, 9.30am - 12.30pm, Mon - Thurs
