Course Information for Te Hiko Tākaro – Learn Game Development

Purpose of the Course:
Over three days students design & develop their own Aotearoa themed video game. Students walk away having developed their own game and learned the coding skills worth 6 credits if they were done at school.
Day 1: Students learn game development basics and design their own game. Students start developing their own platformer video game (like Super Mario Bro’s but set in Aotearoa).
Day 2: Students learn to upload their own content into their game and customise it.
Day 3: Students publish their platformer game and start making an RPG adventure game also set in Aotearoa
Pre-requisites (if any): Gifted and Talented Students Years 8 and above.
