Course Tutors: Judy Jeffery and Kathy Wilkie
Purpose of the Course: Experienced tutors teach the whole process of deconstruction of the old piece of furniture to the new completed piece.
- Participants will learn about…
- how to deconstruct the old piece of furniture, removing fabric and stuffing keeping what is needed for new pattern cutting
- re making all components from springs, stuffing and top fabric
- Sewing the new pieces to fit the furniture
- finishing techniques to make your project look the best
Pre-requisites (if any): BYO furniture project to remake. This course is for beginners. Learners will be contacted by tutor prior to course starting to ensure piece is suitable for a beginner to upholster and can be completed within timeframe. Not suitable for couches.
Participants Must Provide: The tutors have a tool box which they are generous in sharing however you may need your own tools (where possible) such as a staple gun, hammer, screwdriver, pliers, tacks and staples. Tutors will advise you of what tools are needed once you get started.
