 Have you always wanted to learn Māori waiata?  Here is an awesome opportunity to stretch your vocal chords, learn a variety of Wairarapa & traditional waiata, and improve your te reo Māori pronunciation along the way.  All welcome.  Nau mai, haere mai.  ** Please note: originally advertised as starting Monday 14 June – now moved to Thursday evenings, starting Thursday 17 June.

Course Information for WAIATA – Te Reo Māori in Action

Purpose of the Course:  

By the end of this course participants will have:

  • a basic understanding of Te Reo Māori
  • gained the confidence to sing-a-long to local waiata
  • an understanding of the meaning behind each waiata
  • increased their ability to pronounce Te Reo Māori words correctly

Other Information: Run in collaboration with Aratoi, and ‘Pukana – Māori Moments in Performance’ exhibition.
