Social and Emotional Literacy:
Enhancing children’s social competency using storytelling and persona dolls
The sessions will cover:
The development of emotional and social literacy: the theory and the practice
Understanding and supporting the development of children’s identity
Developing a storytelling practice to have courageous conversations about behaviour, exclusion, difference and diversity issues
Developing the practice of using Persona Dolls to explore issues of exclusion, difference and diversity to support social competency in interactions.

This workshop is for any ECE or new entrant educators and teachers. The cost of the workshop is being met by the Wairarapa Early Childhood Network (WECN) with support from Masterton Trust Lands Trust and REAP Wairarapa.
