REAP Wairarapa – Rural Education Activities Programme is part of a collective of 13 REAPs nationwide. Each has their own flavour that works to meet needs within the community – with a goal of ‘developing rural communities through quality lifelong education’.
REAP Wairarapa works from ‘twinkle to wrinkle’ with Early Childhood, Schools, Adult Education and user pays courses. We have a diverse and fun team that works throughout the Wairarapa.

Rural Playgroup Support, REAP Wairarapa
REAP Wairarapa is looking for a Playgroup Support Person to work
alongside our rural playgroups across the region.
This is a 24 hours per week, over 4 days role.
About the role:
In this role you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging activities that support the rural playgroup’s local curriculum needs.
- Help build participation and connection within each playgroup
- Be a trusted resource and friendly face for parents, children and caregivers
- Collaborate with other rural support groups and agencies
About you:
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Early childhood experience and a sound understanding of the ECE curriculum
- A natural ability to connect with diverse rural communities
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to the needs of each group
- A warm sense of humour
- Confidence using a range of digital tools and technologies
